Education and Outreach:
Many members of faculty of several departments and through
them many students are associated with extension
projects (Science and Technology, Transfer and
utilization for income generating activities for weaker
sections / rural people and Enterprise and
Entrepreneurship Development) and Social Science
projects (Health and General Awareness, Camps, Campaigns
against AIDS, Pro human rights and Women empowerment and
other social service activities) through the Centre for
Research in Social Sciences and Technology and Culture
of the GRD Trust and under the NSS and field work
programme of the College.
Extra currucular Activities :
The College is particularly reflex with a variety
of student activities – local and outstation seminars
and visits, special programmes, interaction, guest
lectures, professional and cultural meets and
competitions, celebrations and festivals, publications
etc. These activities, which develop students all round
personality, leadership, social skills and abilities
& talents are taken up under the various
departmental associations, literary societies like NSS,
Youth Red Cross etc.
Placement :
Placement for training / internship / project
work / employment is given much importance at the
College with a committee of senior faculty to promote
and coordinate the activity. Placement efforts include
preparation of outgoing student brochures / profiles, CD
ROMs, promotion of contacts and collaborations, campus
interviews and referrals to companies and recruiting
agencies etc.
Student representatives from the final year PG
and UG classes are actively involved in planning the
placement activities and making the necessary
arrangements for Campus Placement Interviews. The PG
students participate in several Personality Development
Programmes in preparation for attending the placement
interviews.
Library:
The library is a vital adjunct of educational institutions and research centres, as it is the repository of available knowledge. The Library is well stocked, well staffed and above all is constantly updated by additions. To meet the needs of teachers to keep abreast of developments and for research referencing, over 215 journals & periodicals are subscribed to in the different fields of study of the College.
Except for reference books, the Library functions on the open access basis, and works for extended hours on working days and is open on Sundays and holidays. The Management, Computer Sciences and Commerce Departments have their own libraries.
Laboratory:
The college has well equipped Laboratories for subjects such as
Computer, Educational Technology, Science, Psychology, & Language.
